Project Scope

Graycor transformed Short Pump Town Center, a the 1.3-M SF pedestrian-friendly “community within a community” open-air mall, with a brand new fresh look.

The highlight of the project is the new pedestrian bridge which connects the second mall level. The addition of vertical transportation included a new feature elevator. Other elements adding to the aesthetics of the mall included a new fountain, fireplace, two pavilions and trellis.

The scope of work involved demolition of the existing pedestrian bridge and fountain, replacement of brick pavers, relocation of two existing escalators, renovation of three sets of restrooms and selective painting.

The mall remained open for business during its regular hours while construction continued around the clock. Graycor engaged its “live environment” approach to ensure the project was completed safely and with the highest quality standards.

During preconstruction, Graycor worked closely with the project team to provide value engineering services to ensure the project remained within the owner’s budget.
