Project Scope
AEP’s two-phased environmental retrofit project involved the Graycor Industrial team to install a flue gas desulfurization (FGD) scrubber system to reduce sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions from the plant′s 780-megawatt Unit No. 4. Phase one of the project consisted of substructure work, including foundations, underground utilities, roadways, site grading and surfacing. Phase two involved all superstructures supporting the FGD and buildings.
The project scope included installation of the following components:
Major equipment and steel foundations
Stack foundation
Complete ductwork and support steel
Limestone silos and pipe racks / limestone unlading building
Electrical building / process buildings
Pre-engineered U2A and urea unloading building
Setting equipment in FGD building
HVAC
