Project Scope

Graycor completed the new Cobb Theatre in the upper level of Westfield LLC’s Countryside Mall. Graycor expanded the southwest corner of the operating mall for the new state-of-the-art, 12-screen, 2,000-seat cineplex. The multiplex incorporates the latest technology in Cobb’s next generation design.

The building shell scope included a 14,000-square-foot structural overbuild of the existing mall roof structure. Columns were extended and a new roof structure installed over the existing structure, then the existing roof was removed from below. All demolition and structural work on the overbuild was performed during night shift hours for safety reasons and to minimize the impact of construction on the operational tenants in the mall lower level below.
