Graycor provided design-build services for the 100,000-square-foot expansion of ALDI’s distribution center and cold storage facility which included 60,000 square feet of cold storage space and 40,000 square feet of dry storage space.
The expansion included a refrigerated meat room slab replacement, server room, emergency generator, primary power feed, men’s and women’s locker room expansion, sampling rooms, added forklift charging stations, added powered dock levelers to 80 existing docks, break rooms and kitchen remodel and new parking lot.
Scope of work included conduit runs through the existing space to feed new panels for the expansion, relocation of charging stations to add more capacity, data switch over, rack re-use sequencing from existing to new and MEP work.
During construction, Graycor constructed floor-to-deck temporary partitions, redirected traffic flow, relocated work stations, sequenced work and coordinated with the ALDI team to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
